DHS

The Dansol curriculum was fashioned out in line with subjects prescribed for the Junior and Senior Secondary Schools in the National Policy on Education, known as 6-3-3-4 system.

Junior Secondary School

In the Junior Secondary School, the following subjects are offered.

CORE (COMPULSORY)

ELECTIVE ( PRE - VOCATIONAL)

ELECTIVE ( NON - VOCATIONAL)

English Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, Integrated Science, Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa, Christian Religious Knowledge, French and Introductory Science

Agricultural Science, Business Studies and Home Economics

Physical and Health Education, Fine Arts and Music

 

For students in JSS1 and 2, all subjects above are compulsory. When the students get to the third year however, they have to study the 8 core subjects and 2 or 4 other subjects from Pre - Vocational and Non - Vocational subjects.

The minimum number of subjects to be taken in JS 3 are 10 and the maximum to be offered is 12. Computer is compulsory for all Dansol High School Students.

SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

For Senior Secondary School, the following subjects are offered:

CORE (COMPULSORY)

ELECTIVE ( SCIENCE)

ELECTIVE ( NON - SCIENCE)

English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Economics

Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Geography

Accounts, Commerce, Typewriting and Shorthand, Food and Nutrition, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Literature in English, Government, Christian Religious Studies, French, Technical Drawing, Fine Art and Music

In Dansol High School, it is compulsory for all SS 1 students to offer the following subjects:- English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English, Yoruba/French, Biology, Economics and Computer

It is also compulsory for a science student to offer Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Further Mathematics. Economics and Computer are also compulsory for all students.

SS I and II students are to offer a minimum of 10 subjects and maximum of 12 while SS 3 students are to offer 8 or 9 subjects.

The commercial students are to offer the following subjects: - Accounts, Commerce, Government, Typewriting and Shorthand.
